Job Description Summary

The Division of Continuing Education is seeking a part-time Washington County Workforce & Continuing Education Coordinator. The Workforce & Continuing Education Coordinator will be responsible for the development, scheduling, marketing, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of workforce training and continuing education programs in Washington County. The position will maintain an office at the Washington County Center in Roper, NC.

This part-time position reports to the Director of Personal Enrichment & BCCC Centers.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
An associate’s degree in business administration, management, adult education, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.

Work Experience:
Previous experience in workforce development and administration. Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel. Communication, both oral and written, skills necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, adult education, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.

Work Experience:
Previous teaching experience involving adult learners. Prior experience with Colleague; knowledgeable about the registration requirements of the NC Community College System within Continuing Education.

Essential Duties

Duties include:

• Develop, schedule, market, implement, deliver, and evaluate workforce training and continuing education programs in Washington County.
• Assist in the development and implementation of short and long-term plans for Workforce and Continuing Education in Washington County that support and contribute to the achievement of College strategic objectives, goals, and its mission and evaluate the effectiveness of such plans and activities.
• Coordinate the integration of the instructional components of Workforce & Continuing Education programs in Washington County including the selection and evaluation of instructional staff, preparing staff assignments, curriculum development, scheduling classes, and program development and monitoring.
• Coordinate the Performance Evaluation Review process for part-time instructors using instructor and course evaluations. Review all data results with part-time instructors in an effort to maintain continuous quality improvement in instruction and course curricula.
• Coordinate all support activities, including facilities, equipment, registration, and management and supervision of students and student records.
• Complete required class visitations and evaluations.
• Maintain standards for compliance with state and national accrediting agencies, NC Community College System, and Beaufort County Community College.
• Participate in workforce development partnership meetings to stay informed on community updates and to foster new partnerships.
• Direct and implement the development and management of the Workforce & Continuing Education Program budget in Washington County; supervise the preparation of budgets and, upon approval, assume overall responsibility for timely and accurate implementation.
• Prepare financial reports, presentations, brochures, and other documents pertaining to the Workforce & Continuing Education Program in Washington County.
• Maintain student, instructor, and staff confidentiality. Consistently monitor work area to ensure instructor and student data is being protected according to Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations. Participate in annual FERPA training.
• Multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Adapt and respond to changing work situations and environments in a positive manner.
• Identify and improve upon internal work-flow procedures in an effort to provide improved customer service to Continuing Education customers, both internal and external.
• Participate in professional development activities designed to enhance job skills and knowledge, as agreed upon by the employee and supervisor
• Interact with students, the public, the community, and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous and professional manner
• Comply with the College’s policies and procedures
• Work flexible schedule to include nights and weekends, as needed.
Perform related duties and responsibilities, as assigned by supervisor.
